If you're bored with the Nintendo DS theme you have on your DS right now, soulanger from Neoflash has posted a preview video of his project for Neoflash Coding Contest of his PS3 XMB for the DS app! From the looks of the preview video, soulanger has made his Nintendo DS app look almost exactly like the PS3 XMB. The best way to describe this app is that it makes your Cart GUI look beautiful with a PS3 theme as the default GUI. This app has some pretty neat features like sending PC2DS, DS2PC, total-conversion theme editing, seeing in-game video footage while selecting your game, etc. The expected release date of this app is going to be around August 20th, but soulanger isn't sure yet.
If you're a huge fan of the Pokemon series, then you're going to love this. Nintendo has unveiled their new Nintendo DS limited edition Pokemon pack. This new Pokemon pack comes with a limited edition Pokemon themed DS and exclusive Pokemon premiums. The custom DS has images of Dialga and Palkia from Pokemon Pearl and Pokemon Diamond. This new limited edition Pokemon pack also comes with never-before-seen and released animated special based on the story of the two Pokemon titles, Pokemon Myster Dungeon Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness, as well as a carrying that has images of Dialga and Palkia and a collectible mini poster. This new pack will be available in the US on August 17th for the price of $129.99.
Its seems that BioWare is trying its best to keep Mass Effect alive for fans by porting the game onto the Nintendo DS until Mass Effect 2 arrives. According to statements made by Chronicles lead Miles Holmes, Holmes says that the BioWare company is considering a DS version of Mass Effect. They're also considering DS versions of Dragon Age and Jade Empire. Holmes commented that he would personally want to see a DS version of Mass Effect the most.
For those of you waiting for Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, you might have to wait awhile. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days suppose to be scheduled to come out in 2008, but it seems that Siliconera has found news that it might have been delayed. A revised release date of games from the DKΣ3713 shows up as "this Winter" for this game without 2008 next to it. All of the other games on Famitsu’s skeleton calendar have release dates for them including Birth by Sleep which won't be out until 2009. The release date on the official Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days site shows up as TBA. I'm guessing that this game really did get delayed. Even if this game gets pushed back, it won't be long for Japans release.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars]Yes, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for Nintendo DS was announced at E3 Nintendo press conference at 17:40 GMT 15th July 2008. The game is built with a custom engine and set in a Mondern-day Liberty City. It is expected to release in North America and Europe this winter.

Havent seen much DS news on this site of recent, but thought this deserved some acknowledgement due to the actions the R4 team will be taking. In a surprising move the team behind the R4 Nintendo DS entertainment, development and backup unit are planning on bricking your Nintendo DS or Nintendo DS Lite - that is if you're using a cloned product. Knowingly or not the R4 Team plans on releasing a firmware that will wipe your Nintendo DS's on-board BIOS to smithereens.
In a move to fight other factories from replicating their flashcart without permission the R4 Team will release a new firmware to combat the situation. Cloning happens a lot in the scene as factories either steal the design or the unit is reproduced using cheap parts. Most cloning is done by a few companies including Divineo and in that companies instance the clones are promoted on sites Divineo owns such as Maxconsole.com.

So now we have all been warned. Team R4 do not want any of us to purchase the fake version's from elsewhere.
"There's not a lot of details on this one just yet, but Activision CEO Mike Griffith has dropped word in an earnings conference call that the company's upcoming Guitar Hero: On Tour game / controller combo will not only be released on its own this June, but in a new Nintendo DS bundle as well. No word on a price, unfortunately, nor is there any indication that the DS itself will be undergoing any Guitar Hero-inspired changes, but it seems like those little details should be making themselves known soon enough."
