Err no offence but that tutorial is cr*pish and n00bish. You missed a lot of key points.
1) If you followed that tutorial yet find DC6 crashing then need to disable all custom themes (ie CXMB, F0, and even if it doesn't do anything change the option to original in the themes settings tab). It should now work
2) If it still doesn't check that u have enough mem (DC6 is big, around 30MB)
3) Don't run DC6 from time machine firmware (Not sure why but mine failed on 3.60 M33, s***ed out an error like failed to extract module *****)
4) Don't delete DC5 from the mem stick or reformat it, in fact i recomend getting a 256 mb stick, sticking all of time machine on it (and pandora downgrader), then DC5 (telling it to boot right (up if u don't have pandora)) and then DC6 telling it to boot down (right -pandora). This way you have all the options u can get on a magic mem stick and will still have room for a NAND dump.
5) Aaah, to theming enthuseists like Xander, i tried modifiying some of the modules/resources in DC6 folder (mainly hoping that it would boot up a fully customized 4.01 M33-2 from the mem stick) yet this was too much to hope for as DC6 Just hangs if you try it.
6) Have fun, but i can say with my luck i already ran into 2 psp i can't downgrade, yet only one that i could but not with DC5
