True, I mean now a day's a used Classic is about $149 or less I think it's the same for a used Slimline, perhaps less I'm not sure as I am not a fan of it to look it up. Also if it came down to the point where there are no more Slimline's in stock they'd still sell it if they got it. Money is money to businesses like Gamestop, they'll take anything and sell it. It's the same with everything, when we found out that you could convert PS1 games for use on the PSP places stopped selling them and now it's up to the net to find them in some areas. Same deal with the Classic, although like I stated before no matter what happens with store stock there will always be people selling units back so you can always get a used unit "somewhere"
As for the PSP3k it will all depend on the way people are and what they want. Some will wait for when and if it get hacked, others will get it to enjoy the experience and wait for the dev's to do their work. Some might just get it because they are not into the whole homebrew scene. I still think it's stupid to cease production on the Slimline, I mean I might hate the system and secretely I snicker with joy that it's no longer going to be made while waiting for the same thing to happen to the iPod but I know there are many people who enjoy it, also some that are just getting into the whole PSP Realm would get an appreciation out of seeing something related to the original. As of right now it's a step above the Classic and runs on firmwares that give you the history of the PSP. Also you can use the current app's and games on the Slimline so it's not a stretch to work with it.
I normally would say "oh suck it up and wait until it's hacked because then you can install or do what you want" but to be fair as people are either too lazy, afraid to attempt this on newer systems, just happy with what they have or are debating upgrating what they have. I can see why they hold on to the ones out there already. So to take it off the production line does seem like a major upset, but if your a little patient and resourcful you'll be able to find it. Money's everything in the technology world if your willing to spend it someone will be willing to help you out.
