I'd rather stick with an old school DS and easily mod it for a MUCH lower price.
It kind of reminds me of the iPods. Everyone flips because they look so nice and shiny, but when it comes down to it, it's nothing but a regular mp3 player thrown into a nice shiny case with some extra features no one really uses all that much. I've never, EVER seen anyone sit for two hours and stare down just so they can watch a movie on their iPod.
In my opinion it's all just a scam to get kids who's parents don't know enough about it's money.
I would say it's more for the people that don't want to hack their system (Even though I think the DSi will get hacked in it's first year out). This new DS adds a lot of good features that I wished it had when the first one came out like the music player and camera (Even if the cam kinda sucks). I understand that you don't want to loose your GBA library, but you could dl the ROMS and use a PC Emulator or a PSP Emulator to play them. Not to mention the DS has an app store, and I'm gonna say they r gonna put out an official emu for it. Also you say you would stick with the Old School DS so you can mod it for "MUCH Cheaper" but you don't know if it will even cost to mod a DSi. I'm gonna say when it does get hacked/modded that all you will have to have is a SD Card. We both have valid points so I say we should agree to disagree

One more thing (To Everyone).
iPods Suck! Zunes Rule!
