Yo new to the DS scene but a vet hackin my psp, I just bought this R4 from Amazon and want some assurance I got the right one and won't get ripped off by recieving a fake. anyone bought this off amazon?
R4DS V3 By Team R4 Media Cheat Code Enhancer DS SLOT-1 Adapter http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00141D894
ya you can hack your ds but it is defiantly not as good as a psp the ds hombrews suck the only reason i would unlock a ds is if you like the games and don't want to pay for them lol
I think a ds cartridge can hold 128mb. DS emulation is rather difficult because of processor type; if the psp used the same architecture and processor type as the DS, there would probably already be a decent DS emulator.
Or a bad psp. Been that Nintendo has there owen engeniering for all there systems consisting of an ARM7 ARM9 format
as far as i know, you need to buy the original ds browser to surf the internet on ds. ds browser roms don't work because it requires something (i forgot the name) that is in the original nintendo ds browser. anyways, who needs browsing when you got more or less 500 games line up to be played on ds! woot!
its called ram, the ds has barely any ram, so the original one adds to the ram, and yes, who the hell wants to0 brows on a tiny screen

Iv'e just stolen 10 seconds from your life!! Take That!!!
I have had a PSP for about 1 year now and I LOVE IT! But with all the hype of the DS I decided to buy a DSlite from a friend. I do like the amount of games that are available. But when trying to find information on running apps, games, and whatever else off a Memrory cartrage I am very confused.
So here is what I would like to try with the DS and mabey you can help. I would like to be able to run apps and roms from a memory cartrege. How would i do this. What kind of hardware would I have to buy and use?
ok man, take my word, do not buy an R4 like everyone else is saying, get a cyclods evolution, its better quality, it even has real time save. trust me, r4 is very very over rated, so ya, get that, and get a micro sd card, you don't need a big one, i think mine is 2 gig, and i have more than enough room, than get a ds and your all set, try getting some apps like the ipod clone, vnc, axe music maker, beup (MSN)
, snes emulator, doom, DSorganize, wolf3d,
hope this helps!!!

Mmmm, the CycloDS is overrated.
Sure, real-time save is awesome, but most of the extras of the CycloDS is pretty useless.
I got a DSTT from Dealextreme plus a 2 GB Kingstom MicroSD card for a little under thirty bucks.
It's really cheap there because it's straight from HongKong; and they aren't fake, I'm 110% sure of that. My DSTT has been doing good ever since.
But if you're looking for a budget flashcart for your DS I suggest the Acekard 2; it has a beautiful GUI, 100% game and wifi compatibility, and is very easy to use.
I don't know if this is against the rules, but if you visit GBATemp it has all the reviews and news for anything GBA/NDS related.
I've gotten into the DS modding scene a couple months back but it's very easy to get the hang of it; there's a couple of basic things to know and that's about it, you're set.
I've taken apart my DS so it's multi-colored, my original DS was Onyx, but I removed the top back of it and replaced it to a white back with white buttons.

A cyclods is very expensive, but worth it. The R4 interface is crap in my opinion. you know when you click all the buttons at once and it takes you to the home menu, that only works 20% of the time on an r4!
I got mine off deal extreme too!
but i do agree with you on the acecard, that has a nice gui.
