Official Forum Rules (Read Before Posting)

This rule list does not cover everything, use common sense, saying “It wasn’t on the rule list” is not applicable.


1. Use a descriptive thread title, don’t use titles like “HELP!” or “hay guiz look at this lol”. Also please use correct grammar in your thread tags, do not post tags such as "[RELEASE!!!]" simply just use "[Release]"

2. Don’t troll, such as saying the PSP is better in a DS thread or replying to a thread just to say it sucks.

3. Explicit, vulgar language, drug talk, nudity, porn and so forth is not allowed.

4. Do not talk about warez or piracy, our host doesn’t allow it. You can talk about a game you pirated, but don’t tell us you pirated it, just keep it to yourself.

Gameboots etc are allowed. Do not talk about anything that is deemed illegal, THIS IS THE LAW NOT JUST A RULE.

5. No alt accounts, they will get all your accounts banned. This includes Bugmenot accounts, these will be instantly deleted!

We have ways of finding out.

6. If you’re posting an article, make sure you include the source, and state your opinion about it.

7. Spell to the best of your ability, and use spell-check. We don’t care if it’s faster to use ‘u’ instead of ‘you’.

8. Do not reply to threads just for the sake of replying. Posts like “what” or “cool.” will decrease your post count and you may loose your ability to post. This also includes the "Intoduction Forum".

9. If somebody is asking for help, help or don’t post.

10. You cannot in anyway advertise your site. If you are, knock it off, and go buy some Google ad space. You must not create dedicated threads to advertise your website.

11. Read the thread before you reply.

12. Do not access the forums through a proxy! If someone is using the same proxy to spam, you will be banned, no excuses.

13. Don’t make debate about religion, this will only end up offending someone in the end.

14. Use the search button before creating a new thread

15. Post in the correct forum area, or it will be deleted/moved without notice.

16. Spamming will get you banned, if you’re not smart enough to tell the difference between spam and normal posts, don’t post

17. Avatars must be 80x80 pixels max and images 400x229 pixels to keep the forum clean.

Please limit the size of your signatures, and don’t use BMPs! Please limit the size of your signature to 1 image and do not post links to external sites.

18. Links to point per click websites are not allowed, they will be removed and you will be warned.

19. Links to malicious content such as trojans or viruses will get you banned, it doesn’t matter if you didn’t know, for all we know, you probably want to infect us.

20. Do not post links to file sharing sites such as Rapidshare or Megaupload, please upload your attachments to Consolespot.

21. Do not upload ‘Flash 0’ this is property of Sony and is illegal.

22. XMB creators may ask for donations using a small icon or link. For other
users this is strictly prohibited. Links to things such as Adsense will result in a permanent ban.

23. Treat all Consolespot staff members with the upmost respect, not just moderators and administrators. VIP Members etc. may not have the power
to ban you themselves but we certainly listen to them. The official staff list can be found here.

24. Keep the same house style throughout the whole post

25. Don't post "I'm leaving" threads, when in reality people rarely do. They lurk for a while and then all of sudden re-appear. The "I'm leaving" thread is then thrown back in their face with the usual flamers and bile that comes with the Internet.

26. Do not post in spam threads, Posting in a spam thread is spam in itself. Stop doing it, we've all seen these threads, and now we've all seen them bumped up to the top of the list for every unregistered user to see.

Breach of these rules could result in you receiving an infraction or a permanent or temporary ban from Consolespot!
