Default PS2 Eyetoy as a webcam - PC [Tutorial]

Eyetoy as a webcam, for Windows XP & Vista!

Hello im doing another tutorial but this time it's how to use a eyetoy as a webcam. The reason im doing this is because i saw a youtube video and i saw a person using a eyetoy as a camera so i did some research. It's been out a while but i wanted to share it with the consolespot network.

Requierments:

- Namtai Eyetoy (SLEH-00031) Or Logitech (SLEH-00030)

(SLEH-00030 Driver contributed by Silver-Wings-Of-Gold) Thanks man

- Windows (TESTED ON VISTA, WORKS)
- Drivers (in zip attached)

Step1: Download and extract the attached zip containing the drivers. place the folder "eyetoy drivers" Or "sony_eye_toy" which is in the zip file onto your C drive, so it's like this - C:/eyetoy drivers OR C:/sony_eye_toy

Step2: Plug in your Eyetoy and follow the instructions below.

- When you plug in your eyetoy this will come up:

Select "No, not this time" then click next.

- Then it will ask you were to download the software from.

Select "specific location (advanced)" then click next.

- Then there will be a few options to select, use the image below to match up the settings.

And were it says "include this location in the search" select were you put the drivers, so it would be "C:/eyetoy drivers" or were ever you placed your downloaded files, so select that and click next.

- When you've clicked next it will come up with a warning window.

Click "Continue Anyway"

- After that it will come up with another unknown warning

Click "ok"

- When you've done that it will ask you for your power freuquency settings.

Click "YES" for Europe, Australla & India. Or "NO" for American, Japan, Korean & Taiwan.

- When you've selected your power freuquency settings your done!

To see if the installation has worked try the "VIDCAP32.EXE" file which will be located in this folder - "C:/eyetoy drivers"

Enjoy and comment of it works for you!
Thanks for reading and give feedback. If you have any problems use the forum to comment OR add me on MSN and i'll go through it with you.

So it worked for you?! Im glad it did. Vista is annoying when it comes to installing hardware. Thats one of the main reasons why i stayed on Winows XP Media Center.

But this driver still wont install says there is not a compatable driver available, I am no N00B to computers either any suggestions?

*Eddit* Found out this driver is only compatable with 32 bit version of Vista I am running the 64bit Ultimate Version.
