Companies re-release consoles to make more money:
  • PS1 - Mini PS1
  • PS2 - PS2 Slimline
  • PSP - PSP Slim
  • DS - DS Lite
  • 360 - 360 Elite

You see all of the 'new' consoles are just as good as the first, with minor improvements.

DS Lite was a worthwhile upgrade unlike most of those other half-assed ones..

But most people didn't, most people didn't have DSes when nintendo made the Lite. When sony made the PS2 Slim, most potential buyers had already gotten a PS2.

No no.. or well.... almost..

Gameboy (big and ugly) -> Pocket (Slim and cool, atleast the 1st edition one was.. damn I'm glad I still got it somewere) Gameboy Pocket "normal/standard" edition with those ugly lego colors released for the world. Color was okay but the battery life failed. Advance was an okay "upgrade".

DS Phat, friggin useless. And the Lite came out like what 6 months later?

PS2 Slim was more to cut prices than trying to sell more, as the HDD was never really used (except maybe for FFXI) Slim was released like 2 years after PS2.

Wii = Upgraded Gamecube that really sold well even if offical numbers says els were. It also uses some very (very very!) old stuff that even the Dreamcast had, like the fishing rod an so on. Now where's your "new" stuff bitch!?

But then again we have new gamers born in the late 90's and early 2000's they "need it" I guess. But they do so not belong to the console era.

PSP Lite, totally useless but good for "normal" folks that have no idea of what it's capable to doing. Really... homebrew took it up quite a bit...

Were's our Sega console!? I heard a rumor about it being out in 2008 (but we can only hope).

Games were made for teens atleast in the late 80's / 90's was. And also targeted to "adults" when more "action" games were released.

Stay tuned for an update after the break

All I am going to say is that I own a DS 'Phat' and I am not planning on buying another one, I just don't see the point. All DS owners should own either a DS and a PSP or both.
