don't flame me but, i haven't played a MGS game before, on a home console. well i played MGS AC!D, but i knew from the get-go that it was completely different from the real MGS series, so i am not basing my experience with the real MGS.
i also played MGS Portable Ops, and i didn't really like it so much. i played online just to kill people but thats all.
Well, the first MGS I've played was MGS4. It's a two-for. You get MGS4 and you get it's multi-player counterpart; Metal Gear Online.
Just make sure when and if you buy it, download the Information Database from the PSstore. It's free, and contains everything that is MG. Very helpful for people who are just brushing up their knowledge. And for people (like me and you) who have never played the MG series.
And as you requested, this is a game that you can play several playbacks and not get bored. (Because you can get better stuff) Just beware that this game has very long cutscenes (6 hrs. total)
EDIT: The game is $30 new, well, at least where I purchased it at.

Be warned with MGO though. I remember the few online matches I played and the odd thing about that game is that when you are playing it, you feel like the only person who is crap at the game.

so yeah, now my happiness got delayed... well CoD:MW2 definately has my eye, i've played CoD:MW2 and i was hooked! and the new features that are added into MW2 make it even that much better!
so yeah, CoD:MW2 is going to be my first game!
as for racing, i was looking into GT5. so GT:Prologue was just a little bit of GT5? thats gay!
@Peza, yeah i said Street Fighter 4 wouldn't be my first game, but didn't say it wouldnt entertain me or anything.
i just don't wanna get it first cause then that would be my only game for a while and i just think the replay value of it isn't that high for me, personally, so thats why i said no to it. maybe in the future i will get Street Fighter 4.
