wat would be a good tv to play ps3 on because i dont have a hi def TV. the tv i have is big its clear but it doesnt look much detail if i were to buy a new TV i would have to look for high def 1080p or wat?
The number 1080 represents 1,080 lines of vertical resolution (1080 horizontal scan lines)
The letter "p" stands for "progressive"
The letter "i" stands for "interlaced"
Overall, "p" is better than "i".
Someone correct me if i'm wrong on this, but I believe "p" means that all the pixels on the screen change simuletaneously/all at once, while "i" changes the pixels from top to bottom or left to right vice-versa, but it happens so fast its really not that noticable to the naked eye.
If you're going for a hi-def tv, I'd recommend an LCD hdtv.
Lcd's are better that plasma's because if you leave a still image on a plasma for a long time (2-3) hours, you get temporary burn-in.
Burn-in just means that a ghost image of whatever you had on the tv is shown, but dissapears after a while.
I know this because I have my ps3 w/hdmi hooked up to an 42" 1080p lcd hdtv, and my 360/hdmi is hooked up to a 42" 720p plasma hdtv. When im playing a dvd or game and leave it @ the main menu annd fall asleep, the ghost image stays for a while (plasma, it NEVER happened to my lcd)
