Default Can you put a psp 3000 screen in a psp 2000?

My psp slim has a slight scratch, and screens are cheap enough that I want to replace it.

I was wondering if I could upgrade the screen to one of the nicer psp 3000 screens.

I assume this isnt possible, as it seems to me I would have seen it mentioned by now, but I thought Id ask.

    Thanks.

idk if it would work because wouldnt the psp 3000's screen be a different size to the lcd cage where the lcd screen sits in slims?

NO.....many have asked this, you can't the LCD screen for the 3000 is completely different. The CPU in the 2000 won't support the screen.

There you go. Project Jannet couldn't be any more clear and specific.

If you have a scratch on your faceplate, there is no reason to replace the LCD.
Unless you have opened the PSP and confirmed that the screen itself is scratched.

Also. The PSP 3000 screen doesn't work on a PSP 2000. Slim's CPU doesn't support it and which means that you will have a black screen even while playing.

(There was some guy on youtube that replaced 3000 CPU with Slim CPU. Everything worked except screen. Proof enough?)

    Thanks for the answers.

I didnt realize you could just remove the faceplate, but to be honest I am just kinda wanting to get a new screen anyways because I got my psp used and would like to look at a pristine screen.

Are there LCD's that fit the slim that are significantly better than the stock screen?

On dealextreme I see a sharp for ~25$ and another lcd for ~40$
