Okay, I've seen this before and this is my response.
So, what? It's got some of the best sales so far, largest and most enjoyable game library to me and I've had the most fun out of it than with any other system in years.
Do I think it's the best system on the market? Hell no. I think all three new-gen systems are sucking in their own ways lately. I simply think for ME that the 360 has been the most enjoyable because I haven't had that many problems with it. I noticed that most people who have problems with the 360 are the ones that bought an older version; and those seem to be, and feel to me, much more cheaply made.
I would love to have a PS3, though. Especially the slim one now coming out. I've heard a couple of negatives, like the OS thing; but I honestly don't really care about that as of now. I just want to play cool games that I like; and I adore the PS3 controller.
My reason for buying a 360 is this: It has all the games I would want on PS3, and all of my friends play it online. I buy games for MOSTLY the multiplayer value, excluding Oblivion and Fallout 3. I would rather be able to play with my friends the same games I would be getting with a controller that isn't the best to me, than play multiplayer games alone. It just makes more sense to me.
I will say this. I f*cking hate the Wii with a burning passion. I get a lot of bad feedback for that; but what do I care? You chose a Wii over a PS3 or a 360. I don't want to play any games with you. :P I don't hate Wii owners, but I definitely don't like the fanboys. I think the Wii was once a justifiable purchase, but that was a long time ago. Like my friend said, "There is life in the Wii. Although, that life is comparable to saying a coma victim is alive.".
Not to put down the Xbox 360, but I'm on my 2nd one and I updated it this weekend (update with the avatar marketplace, ect.) and it just stopped reading my disc. I can't get a new one because Microsoft's warranty expired after I got the RRoD 3 yrs ago..shameful
Saying so what is your opinion but there are plenty of other console owners out there pretty pissed off right now. Most of them kids who save up for them... And they just break. The problem has to be fixed and fast. And some of the companies arent adressing the problems fast enough.
Why don't they just reinvent the damn thing?! Obviously, it's the design that's faulty; it's a poorly designed machine in terms on the physical design. They should make a new model, like the PS3 Slim. They have every reason in the world to do just that and no reason not to! It just makes me wanna give up on my XBOX..

Yeah! Decent quality manufacturing can go to hell! I'd rather play the games I want and send my consoles back to the manufacturer when they finally die off as long as my warranty is going, it's not like it's time based or anything!

I lulled. I haven't had any problems with MY 360, which is why my view is about the games. Looking more into the PS3 Slim, I've discovered that it STILL WILL NOT HAVE BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY.
That makes me f*cking angry.
I'd rather risk a shoddy system and be able to play my games that I like than play games that aren't worth anything at the sacrifice of not being able to play my old games. Like I stated before, if the PS3 online system would have had more of my friends on it and more exclusive games, I would have gotten a PS3 instead. I really am not a fan of the exclusives for either system, to be quite honest. It's just that the PS3 was more expensive at the time, the online was more expensive, and was said to be of less quality. Now that I think about it, the pay to play online for the PS3 is probably better than the 360; but it's STILL more expensive.
It hardly seems worth it to me if I'm playing the SAME games with people I wouldn't be able to play on the other side. What I usually see is people that don't take care of their systems. This isn't in all cases; but the first gen Xbox 360's were of much lower quality and that's PROBABLY the problem because they're much harder to manage. Mine's brand new; and I take it to a million places and I haven't had a single red ring except for the time the AV wasn't plugged in all the way.

Just to let you know, playing online is free. You can buy games and add ons and things which cost money but to actually play an online match is free. And good on you having an argument that makes sense, don't see that too often now-a-days.
