Need I say anymore?
A recent study taken by game informer has revealed this amazing figure. Over 5000 console owners where surveyed. All the consoles were owned by average everyday gamers like you or me. The Survey taken by game informer found that more than half of all Xbox's failed once and that 41.2% fail twice, Which to be frank is an even more shocking figure than the percentage stated in the article header.
The survey also found that 10.6% of PS3's and 6.8% of Wii's also break or encounter problems during there life times. These figures are also a large concern for Sony and Nintendo considering the number of units each console has sold. Both companys will have to adress these matters however small the percentages may be. However Microsoft on the other hand have a much greater problem on their hands... Both now and in the future as this problem is on a conciderably greater scale, and will only inevitably continue for a long time to come.
Well... lets say its nice to have a figure to put next to such a shocking display of build quality. It annoys me that Microsoft have loitered around the subject, never really taking the strides to adress the problem. Leaving there customers left in shock as there beloved systems break down with all most annual disparaty infront of there market consuming eyes.
Here's the link from Gamespot if you want to read more on the story: Xbox 360 failure rate

Reason: COS I WANID TO REET??
honestly this is no surprise 2 me, but ty 4 the exact percentages, i can now continue to bag on my friend and his "xbox360 being better than ps3" conspiracy, but now accurately with percentages
Well it isn't a PS3 vs Xbox article. It's news and I would like it to be treat like that thanks. It's pricks like you with there sarcastic comments that spur on such threads. So if you Don't mind, Discuss the article thanks...
I indeed hate the RROD. But the selection of people surveyed is to small to have the fail rate lifted. But I have noticed that the number of consoles going dead is becoming rather rapid. The E73 is close to beating the RROD in terms broken consoles.
yea i read about this yesterday. i was like HOLY $#!Ti thats crazy!
i'm waiting to get myself a PS3, and now that the new price drop is in effect, or will be, i will soon get me one.
but i aslo want a 360 for some games that are for that console only.
oh and also in the article it said that the people who said that their systems (360, PS3, Wii) broke were also people who played for 3-5 hours a day, while people who played their systems for less didn't have as much or no problems at all.
i bet the percentages are pretty close though...i know close to half of the people i know with 360's have had to turn them in! but the good news is that it looks like ms is getting quicker with the turnaround time according to a couple of my closer friends who just sent theres back, they got them back pretty quickly! i personally dont care it only cost me 200 bucks, if it breaks then i'll send it back...the ps3 is a good deal at 299 now though, that should send a few more customers that way!
