yeah my problem here is that i had an unscratched copy of left 4 dead
on my xbox 360 i also had it intsalled on my hard drive in case anything happened to the disc. well a while back my 360 was running slow and i thought it was a memory shortage issue so i deleted the backup of my hard drive (i know now it was a stupid move that i regret) and it was still going slow and before i installed it back on the hard drive i picked up the xbox while the disc was still in it ( i did'nt know it would do anything at the time) and now a circle is scartched deeply into the disc but i can load single player but online fails every time.
so i tried to rent it from my local blockbuster and they didn't have it
(damn them they didn't even have halo 3 all they have are the crap games in stock but it's not there fault is it? ) and no one else that i live by has it so is there any were i can rent a disc, install it on my hard drive and play online
Q: will the game run well online if i have it on my hard drive but i have the scratched one in the disc drive, i'm trying to ask if installing the game on the hard drive means that the disc drive shuts off and it runs completely off the hard drive cuz if not then this is a hopeless case
Ooooh man, I did the same thing with my PGR3. It left a perfect 360 circle, right?
Back on topic: I had bought GTA IV the second day It came out. When I got home, and tried to open it, It was sooo hard to get it out of the box It cracked a little. Iwas still able to play it.
A while back my friend asked me if he can borrow GT, I said yea and he installed it onto his hdd. The game got a little worn over time. When I went to play it in my 360 (no hdd, only mu) it woludnt start. so I let my friend keep it. Since he had it installed in his hdd, it played fine.
EDIT: Even online
In conclusion, If you have a friend who has L4D, ask him if you can borrow it, install in on your hdd. then try and see if your copy of L4D works.
If that doesn't work, try your local gamestop or eb games
You could try repairing your disk. Xbaux 360 loves to mark its territory on disks.

Lmao, dude I swear I did the same thing with my Left 4 Dead. I tried repairing it at a local video store but that did not work then I realized that I could still exchange it at Gamestop for the same one within 30 days.Wow, gotta love Gamestop.

like dripz said borrow a good copy and rip it to your hard drive!
theres a good chance that once its on the hard drive you will be able to use your copy to get it to start! it only needs the disk to verify you own a copy, and it usually only gives it a quick spin, so as long as its not too fudged up i think you will be fine!
