Default My DS Lite wont turn on after replacing the outer shell. I need help fast!!!

I have recently purchased a replacement shell (housing) because of a broken hing. I took apart my DS Lite and and it was the first time I've tried to repair my DS Lite. I tried putting the hinge in the new case but it didn't fit so it I had to change the top screen and its parts back to the original upper housing 2 times. It took a frustrating 12 hours because of the NOOB I am. I read and watched instructions and videos on repairs. After putting everything back which I tried turning on my DS Lite but only the touched screen flashed once quickly and then turned off. Which means I bricked it. I need help fixing this because I really don't want to buy a new DS Lite. I've read that it is probably the ribbon cable connecting the two screens but I'm not sure. Please I need advice. Anything helps.
