I think I just remembered one!!!! The Vision of Escaflowne.

They used to show this one in early 2000, (although i can't remember if it was Kids WB)

Looks really cool. But I have a bad feeling that this isn't it. I can't picture Kids WB ever showing anime.. It was always corny American cartoons. But idk maybe maybe

You know what...i think its is this one...though I can't remember, but I googled it and saw the guy had wings, angel wings...and once I saw that..BOOM...It felt so fimilar...I'll watch it..I think this is it tough.....if not thanks..and again thanks to those for spending their time trying to answer my question

They always show anime (Yu Gi Oh, Pokemon, Dragon Ball Z, and a bunch of other stuff that I can't remember off the top of my head). Now, what they do is water it down to a ridiculous level of non-graphical violence and change the voices to the crappiest dubs I have ever heard in my life...

I had also thought of Tekaman Blade, but in that case, he becomes a robot and I am pretty sure that is not what you are looking for. Escaflowne is probably the one based on the dates that you are saying though (and the fact that it has nothing to do with outer space). Glad I could help though...

I don't consider yu gi oh or even pokemon to be anime.. So of course it didn't come up on my head.
