For the Basic Windows 7
    * 1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
    * 512 MB of system memory
    * 20 GB hard drive with at least 15 GB of available space
    * Support for DirectX 9 graphics and 32 MB of graphics memory
    * DVD-ROM drive
    * Audio Output
    * Internet access (fees may apply)

    * 1 GB of system memory
    * 40 GB hard drive with at least 15 GB of available space
    * Support for DirectX 9 graphics with:
          o WDDM Driver
          o 128 MB of graphics memory (minimum)
          o Pixel Shader 2.0 in hardware
          o 32 bits per pixel
    * DVD-ROM drive
    * Audio Output
    * Internet access (fees may apply)

i can run windows 7 home premium. my comp with vista home premium has 2gb of ram, want to upgarde to 4gb, 465gb of hdd, i think an 256mb graphics card and more. it runs fast. windows 7, they can at least think of a better name, windows 95 has a better name than windows 7.

I don't trust neither the release date nor requirements at all. This is as bogus, if not more, as the supposed "PSP Phone" specs everyone is already drooling about.

I think this could be pretty real, I think i've read in some microsoft news, that the new windows 7 would have a lower system requirements than windows vista, so i think that this thing could be true, but I hope it'll come out early though

because I think this is the new kind of XP

Hi Markcooz , you are right , i am agree with you that the new windows 7 would have a lower system requirements than windows vista, so i think that this thing could be true,what the new version of windows 7, and what should be the specifications of computer for windows 7 new version>?

WAT THE HELL I CAN RUN WIN7 ULTIMA W/ 64 MB INTERGRATED? that just shows that requirements for games, apps + os's ARE BULLSHIT

Windows 7 can run on damn near anything as long as it meets the base requirements.

Which yours obviously does not for Windows 7 Ultimate.

And if you think requirements for games/apps/os's are BS, then switch to a MAC. They have no requirements. If it runs on a MAC, then it runs. There is no questioning of whether it will run good or not like there is with windows. It either does or it doesn't.
