but if your running Wine, you can get viruses to run on your windows files, but linux alone is very very safe.

Thanks for the reply .. I do have WINE running, and i have to say it did a pretty good job running windows apps.,

Wine won't run all Windows applications but the majority will. As for viruses, Linux is completely safe from 'em. It's still a good idea to have a Firewall setup, though.
