IWBTG! A Very Hard Game About a Boy and 8-bit Masochism!

This game may seem a bit difficult at first, but once you get a hang of it, it becomes addicting. That is, if you manage to remain calm at whatever situation.

The buttons at default are:
Shift - Jump
Z - Shoot
Arrows - Move
Q - Suicide
R - Restart
F2 - New Game
S - Skip Boss Intro

I Wanna Be The Guy: The Movie: The Game is a sardonic loveletter to the halcyon days of early American videogaming, packaged as a nail-rippingly difficult platform adventure. Players fill the role of The Kid, a youthful, vaguely Megaman-esque protagonist on a quest to become The Guy. This inscrutable plot, however, is just a vehicle for a wide variety of inventive, well-designed and frustrating jump-and-shoot challenges that pay homage to many of the games you loved as a child. The ever-fragile Kid explodes in a shower of red pixels at the slightest brush from the game's many obstacles, from traditional spikes and bottomless pits to more unconventional killers, such as plantlife and puzzle pieces.

Using a multiroute layout not unlike a Metroidvania, the game grants a degree of deadly exploration, without those extraneous upgades meant to make life easier. The game provides players with a choice in terms of their deathrate, thanks to a variable difficulty setting that changes the number of save points from frequent to nonexistent. IWBTG is open to all players; knowledge of videogaming history is optional, and may not help against the frequently ironic and always sadistic deathtraps located herein. And so, the question is left up to you...

I have finished the game on Very Hard. How far can you get?

This game took me a month to beat but I did and if you don't me believe me here is my save file.It's at the Final Tower Of The Guy but at the top so just walk to your right and there you go you are about to fight THE GUY and if NO ONE believes that I beat it I will post YouTube videos as proof from the beginning to the end of the game without a commentary.

So everyone enjoy these saves and yes I beat this game on Medium then on Hard but I saved these Medium files to a disc and found it so like I said enjoy and have fun dying. :P I will do a walkthrough on Hard if nobody thinks I can pull this game off.


P.S. I'm currently doing a run of the game on Very Hard and am at The Castle Of The Guy.
I hope to beat the game again soon once I have time.

On the save I was doing on hard yes but not the Very Hard one.


I only need the metroid one and the kirby one and I know where they are but they're a little tough for me.


But I will eventually get them. :P

Yes it is a great game. I like it but sometimes I can't stay calm and I just get so pissed....I'm a typical 12 year old if I do say so myself. :P
