What I hear is that it's at its core, a multiplayer game and if you are like me and generally do not play the online component (I've played 18 hours of CoD4 MP since it's release) it's a bit harder to justify the purchase because the multilayer is strong part of the game.
Be that as it may, keep in mind I am simply telling you what I have heard about the game since I have not purchased it myself.
Okay so I just installed a bunch of games I bought the other day, and I have gotten bored of most of them so I went back to playing Modern warfare 1 online, but I tried Cod5 which I got a few weeks back but never really bothered with it, first it wouldn't let me create an online account so I played single-player but it barely run.
For some odd reason I decided to try and see if I could run the new modern warfare 2 and I am just shocked is this really the specs for the game?
an Intel Pentium 4? for a processor, 1 gig of ram, and a GeForce 6600GT? what the bugger is going on here I thought this was supposed to be a state of the art game surely it cant look that good with them requirements I mean there isnt even a recommended bit just minimum....
Those are MINIMUM requirements, Are you Serious?
i5 P4 Quad Core, 8 gigs of Ram 2 (that's right 2) 1g Dark Knight Grafix cards with a SLI Bridge (Making 2g total ), on a 64 bit operating system (Vista 64 until I receive my Windows 7 64 install disk in the mail) That's What I'm running.
Minimum requirements are all that need to be stated, because there are too many set up options, GONE is the day where they could EASILY give a irrelevant suggested Set up, those suggestions may just keep changing as tech progresses. not many people have a system as powerful as mine, but they still want to sell the game to people who's PC's are far less powerful then mine
To gauge the quality of the game the way you have is ridiculous.
For an example Ive got Shift Running, with 1 Grafix card the game runs great, but it still runs better when I have 2 hooked up with a SLI bridge, MUCH BETTER. I could go so far as to add a 3rd card (The SLI BRidge supports it, I got a slot for the 3rd card to hook up with a 2nd SLI bridge connector)
Should they say the best option is what I got as a PC?
What about the guy running a i7 P4? THE ONLY processor on the market faster then my i5.
There is no Maximum setting requirements, whats your problem?
Rac3rX, dude you have no life, I feel so sorry for you.... I Mean that system is just overkill, so I'm guessing you play games quite a lot there for have no social life. But I'm sure it makes you happy right .

Its not overkill for what I use it for. I know its a Bad Boy though and yes it does make me happy Its odd you feel sorry for me, I feel sorry for anybody who doesn't have a system as fast as mine. I know from experience how long slow ass PC's take to get stuff done, especially when you multitask like I do.
You should see how many fans I have on & in it. I also had to switch power supply's 3 times during the last stage of my upgrade, finally I got a modular power supply and enough amps to get the job done no issues.
I play games on it, but it's only partially built for gaming. I do plenty of stuff on it that used to take forever and just slow my PC down to a turtle. So I built it up to stay fast with what I do.
However you should see how it plays games, 0 slowdowns or frame rate loss and full HD. NFS Shift, COD & others games appear simply stunning. As good as the system is with 1 Dark Knight grafix cars (you should see the thing) its gets much better with 2, especially Shift.
I can convert a DVD & watch WinTV (I have a 3 monitor display set up, 1 HD monitor, 1 HDTV and 1 LCD) while still browsing the web with no slow downs at all.
But yeah, I should get a life because I have a really good PC. Even though I built it like this because I have a life and don't want to waist it waiting on a slow ass PC to multitask.
