Default windows needs 1000 engineers to make a new os... WOW!

haha, this is just really funny i was sneaking in the web and i found that this new and "revolutionary" idea from windows it has been made by 1000 engineers, a thousand! do you know how many money do they spend every year? in USA the life if expensive, and since microsoft its a sucessfull company, they got to spend a LOT of that salaries... my god...! and apple is getting and have stay afloat with the revolutionary iphone, iphone 3g, ipod touch and many more... and steve jobs only has 13 engineers... what do you guys/girls think?? its incredible...

All smartass-ery aside, we're pleased to see Microsoft's attempt to more fully engage the development community as it marches towards a 2010 release of Windows 7. The 1,000-strong engineering team is comprised of 25 different feature teams each made up of about 40 persons on average. The whole dry but peculiarly intriguing setup is fully detailed on Microsoft's new E7, corporate transparency blog sitting just beyond the read link.

By the way, how many Apple employees does it take to change a lightbulb? 13, 1 to do the screwing and a dozen lawyer-types to prepare for the recall.

GOD DAMN now thats a lot of people just on Windows, but as I've read somewhere, that this Windows was going to be the most secure Windows ever. So this might be true with all of these people working on it.

I have never had a stability issue with Vista, or any current generation Microsoft product. I had some, but rarely with XP. The buggiest era for me was Win95/98. DOS/Win3.11 was pretty stable as well but drivers were a bit of a pain and sometimes crashed.

I don't think any fair minded individual can really complain about Microsoft's current products. The innovation factor has gone way down but they are doing exactly what we expect from a software giant - act as a stabilizing force in the industry and produce solid products.

I never really got what people have against Microsoft. I haven't had to think about Windows or Office in almost 10 years. In the last decade it has been as close to seamless and reliable for me as I could realistically expect.

I heard windows 7 will take less processing power then vista. Therefore any computer with vista will be allowed to run windows 7. Read it in a magazine that focused on windows 7.

Send me a PM if you have any news.

If you read it, it doesn't say there's only 13 engineers for Apple.

Are you serious!? There's nothing solid about their products. When Vista first released there were keyboards that didn't even work with the OS. When the 360 released, they shipped it knowing of the defects, but had to get their product out first or they would of came in last place again. They're a crappy company that makes crappy products. You say they're innovative, how? What innovation have they made lately?
