Default Slower than the slowest

the PC of my gf is so slow that you should wait for an hr before it shows the boot screen and and so many hour before it starts windows,She want me to fix it but how the heck I gonna fix that lazy machine?
I guess it has so many many many spywares and other un-needed programs.

any suggestion on how I can fix it whithout reformatting it or buying a new one?

Go into safe mode and delete all that crap, virus scan while youre at it

and make sure its a legit virus scanner.. alotta fake virus scanners out there

if u have owners manual and installation disks, reinstall a fresh OS... sorta like Pandora's Battery

I suggest getting avira 9 and doing a virus scan then you should get Glary Utilities and clean your registry and finally you should defrag your whole hard disk...

you might have to recover the whole computer but, if your going to do that go to safe mode and save all the stuff you want then install the recovery disc...you know the disk that came with the computer???pm me for more questions.............

try a disk clean, defrag, virus scan and a deletion of the temp files and cookies and stuff before reinstalling the entire os(re-installation should be the very last alternative).

look if she want it to work good and she dont have stuff in it install new windows and if she want the stuff in it! First download avg free and run it its the best antivirus i ever used! leave it scaning even if it will take a day then restart ur pc do defrag and also delete some of stuff she dont use if the hard disk is full! also do disk clean and is she using pantuim 3 or 4 and whats the ram she got? if less than 512 u should change it man! am using 4gb ram and some times it run slow so i go mad what about 512? so u should change it if its old ram! hope i helped
