Killzone 2 (Delayed) - Console Spot Forums

Guerrilla Games and Sony Entertainment have announced that Killzone 2 has been pushed back to February 2009. For all those pumped up and were ready to play this heart stopping shooter over your Christmas break will have to wait until February. Guerilla Games have said nothing is holding back the release just they hope to release it in the beginning of next year that way they have a clean marketing release. They also stated that one of the other reasons they are doing this is because they do not want to compete with EA's Battlefield Bad Company, Slant Six's SOCOM Confrontation,Microsofts, Gears of War 2 and Insomniac's Resistance 2.

"2008 has been a Competing year for Shooters and we simply can't compete with such major titles, that and we have new shooters releasing within the same month and we don't want three"- Ron Eagle,Senior PR Manager of Playstation 3 Blog.

It really is, not many scheduled shooters for early 2009 just a few free roams.

Mmm this was anounced a bit back, and its hardly a delay considering they never realy did set a release for Killzone 2.

I think this was "anounced"/ Proclaimed at the pre E3 judges convention(orsomething along the lines of that

They stated that it would be delayed but no one knew until when. They stated "why" they are delaying it just recently there was much speculation of why would they delay it. It was set for release around the time of Christmas but Guerilla Games stated they did not want to compete with Sony's other Shooters releasing within the or passed the 3 month period. It would just lower expectations of sales. Sony agreed and thats how the delay was set.

I agree that mgs4 looks (haven't played it) amazing and all killzones have been great (all 2 of them so far) and this one looks waaay better than those 2 but the psp one wasn't even 1st person so I can't say much about a comparison there.

So there are more and more reasons why I think buying that stupid wii was a bad idea If you think I should get a ps3 please help me out (read my sig)
