Originally I was going to post a small note about the recently announced PS3 firmware update coming soon, but it seems it's already out and ready for download.
Over at the PlayStation blog, Sony gave a small announcement about their newest PlayStation 3 firmware update 2.76. Nothing really was mentioned other than that it "improves the playback quality of some PS3 format software." One can only guess what that really means.
I think this minor update is in preparation for just another update to follow after Sony's E3 press conference this year, which is only a few weeks away. Your thoughts?

my thoughts exactly... they would probably pull something off after E3...
I agree.. this is a small preparation for a bigger release pending for E3. everyone would like a few obvious updates (I.E. Cross chat, XMB options in PS2 and PS1 playback, Etc) But I think they will release something like the NXE of last year. I mean at this point that's pretty much the only thing they could do right..?
First of all upgrade u shouldn't want to exploit the PS3 because what eventually will happen is the same thing that happened to the PSP it will DIE if u like ur ps3 upgrade but if ur a god forsaken hacker that would like to see another system slowly crumble to ashes again go right ahead.
