Slightly hinted by Sony's survey back in April for God of War III's collector edition, fans convinced Sony to bring Kratos' earlier adventures onto the PS3. This remastered collection will include God of War and God of War II, in 720p at 60 frames per second with anti-aliased graphics, and will arrive this holiday season.
The Blu-ray disc compilation features both of the first two games in the God of War franchise and as already mentioned will have improved graphics and frame rate, running at a 1280 by 720 resolution and 60fps. Additionally, God of War Collection will include trophy support, adding a set of PSN trophies for each game.
God of War Collection will be hitting stores sometime this holiday season for $39.99 -- the price it would probably cost to buy both on PS2 -- and should give gamers a chance to get in their Kratos practice before the third game in the trilogy drops a few months later, in March 2010.

Such as that the games' gameplay will be untouched and remain true to the original games, but that of course that the classic titles would be running smoother and be receiving a visual boost.
Also mentioned was that all extra bonus content from the original games would be included on the disc. What won't be included (and what some fans were hoping for) is a demo for God of War III, saying that "as far as our standards, it's not ready to go into everybody's home." Additionally, when Hight was asked if there was a chance we would see God of War Chains of Olympus included in the compilation, he answered that it would not be featured in the disc. He said when porting over the two console versions it’s easier because “the fact that we built this thing with higher-res assets,” and that the handheld game is a “different case” with that aspect.
We're sure excited for the release of this game, or games to be more precise. Especially when we know we're getting a great deal for that price. What about you? Does this have you excited as much as it does us?
