happens with me too. I found a simple solution for it. I switch on the console using the controller, when it doesn't connect with the console, i immediately switch it off....now the lights keep blinking and after 30 seconds, connects back and switches the console back on...

hopefully the update will come by this weekend

Firmware 3.15 is live and it fixes the syncing issue with Slims:
PlayStation LifeStyle PS3 Firmware 3.15 Full Change List; Now Live

None of my miniS are supported either, yet.

Its not in all PS3s, just happening in a few. Not everyone will experience this problem. Its more common in the Slim PS3s, but it does occasionally happen the the Phat PS3s as well.

Thats great that it doees fix the problem. As for the Minis, i've heard them say something like only if the Minis were on the PSN on the PS3... something like that i'm not 100% sure but i'll get a quote from where i saw it.

EDIT: Found this from the link you posted Infiniti

Have you tried that to make them work?

EDIT: Here is the quote that I wanted you to see Infiniti.

These bite-sized games offer a more casual experience and are ideal for shorter gameplay sessions. Now PS3 owners will be able to play “minis,” and those who own both a PS3 and PSP system will be able to play on either platform. “minis” for the PS3 system will be available for download on PlayStation Store in the coming weeks. If you’ve purchased any “minis” already for your PSP and the title becomes available for PS3, you’ll simply need to download the title to your PS3.

Yup, deleted them from my PS3, went to the store, and downloaded them again. Even tried downloading them from my download history but they all still show the PSP text under them. Some users on the PS forums mentioned that they all should be updated on the 17th. Hopefully that's true

Installing the update now. It's a quick update so there's really no reason not to update. I'm going to try out my Tetris MiniS, and give an update on how it works.

EDIT: Finished. I had the problem with the controller recognizing the PS3 as well, but it seems to be fixed. The Tetris mini doesnt work yet, so I'm not sure which one would be. Anyways it was a fast update and quick download.
