Default [Tutorial] Extract Files From a .p3t Theme

Have you ever downloaded a PS3 theme that you thought was the Best ever?
But there was just a few small things like a misfit icon/weird text/etc that made it not quite perfect?
Or you just wanted to add a personal touch to?

Well You can extract Files From a .p3t and edit them to fit your likings!
It's a pretty easy proccess if you follow these steps:

[I am NOT responsible for anything that might happen to your Computer and/or PS3, So please take caution]

1. Download These Files: (You will need Both)

-p3textractor-
http://p3textractor.googlecode.com/f...textractor.zip

-PS3 Theme making Files-
http://www.us.playstation.com/Conten...eme_v101-E.zip
(Use this to compile your themes when you are done editing them, See Step 6)

2. Extract both Folders. Then Copy the "p3tcompiler.exe" from the "PS3_Custom_Theme_v101-E" folder to the p3textractor Folder.

3. Now Move the theme you want extracted into the p3textractor Folder.
Right Click on the .p3t File (Or, Your theme).
From the Drop-Down menu select "Open With".
Then browse into the p3textractor folder and select the "p3textractor.exe".

4. A Window in CMD should Pop up with a lot of scrolling text.
(Eg. Writing File: 'extracted/icon.gim')
This is Normal.
Wait for the Scrolling to stop, and some sort of confirmation that the writing is done.

5. You should have a Folder Named "extracted" in the p3textractor Folder.
This has all the Files extracted from the theme (Or .p3t file) you Moved into the p3textractor Folder.

ATTENTION! ONLY FOLLOW THE NEXT STEPS IF YOU WANT TO RE-COMPILE YOUR EDITED THEME
*Read the above steps (1-5) before moving on to steps 7-8

6. Edit the Files you wish and put them back in the extracted folder.
Make sure you didn't rename the edited files to anything other than what they were named before!
(And Remember, Any File you edited must be the Same Format, Size, and Name as before!)

7. After you finished editing the Files drag the *ABC123.xml file from the "extracted" folder onto the p3tcompiler.exe.
(Make Sure you Drag the .xml file onto the original p3tcomplier.exe in the original Download folder)
*Replace "ABC123" With the theme name.

8. Your Newly Compiled .p3t theme will be in the "extracted" Folder.

Congrats! You Succesfully Extracted/Complied your .p3t Theme!

Notes:

-To add your Theme to your PS3 Use a USB memory key and create a /PS3/THEME folder on it.
Put your .p3t file there and plug in the USB Device into your PS3.
With the USB key inserted into the ps3:
Go to Settings, Theme Settings, Install.
"ABC123".p3t should be a option under theme.

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE CREDIT FOR OTHER PEOPLES THEMES!
IF YOU EDIT ANY FILES OR POST YOUR EDITED THEME MAKE SURE YOU CITE THE ORIGINAL CREATOR!
STEALING CREDIT WILL CAUSE YOU TO GET AIDS!

This is where the hacking begins. I think I might put this to use with the fallout 3 theme from the PSN, the darned power saving icon is still the same as the default.
