This game is going to be constantly updated and made the way YOU want it to be.
Tell me things to add. Weapons, powerups, enemies, anything. Tell me if you want physics tweaked, anything at all tweaked.
This game is going to be molded and shaped the way you want it to. This is a community project and I hope people actually choose to contribute.

controls feel good, like it, dont change
would like to see some enemies or asteroids and a powerup shield that last for a certain amount of time after you pick it up, or fades slowly when hit.
Basic firing gun (Probobly gonna be upgradable eg. rapid fire)
Missile
Nuke
Remote control mine
Proximity mine
Sword
and a Laser.
Any other suggestions?

I'm now adding in powerups and whatnot - So far, shield, and speed increase(faster thrust).
Oh, and I finally got off my ass and also created a proper asteroid model. Now I gotta jump on the actual missiles and weapons modeling part.
First off i have a little o.c.d. so it needs at least a pic1...
^ you could probably do better than mine, but I'm bored
-Also to cope with my need for organization anxiety(jk), a menu would be nice.
-more levels and bigger maps rather than just "fit the screen", also it needs an objective, maybe a boss
-a "snake" like feature would be nice (pick up upgrades, and they trail behind your ship, if you hit one of your upgrades you lose it etc...) so the current controls/movement wont do.
-the asteroids should come from all directions at different speeds, also some enemies to destroy(maybe easy mode could be just asteroids, normal could be both ships & ast., finally hard could be etc..and so on).
I just want to say thanks for taking the people's ideas into consideration...and i hope to learn some programming some day, till then i'll just have to rely on people like you ...I'll think of some more.

I'll add a menu later on. It's just a pain adding a menu right away and so I have to navigate through it everytime I test the literally hundreds of builds I make to test things.
I've now got moving asteroids, and collision done(able to shoot them as well). I'm not gonna bother releasing another build yet though, I'd rather build upon this and make it even better.
I've chosen to go with a several game-modes-type idea.
~ Adventure Mode (enemies, asteroids, big playing field, pink elephants, you name it)
~ Dodge-and-kill-all-asteroids Mode
~ Survival (No weapons, big playing field)
any more quick suggestions for game modes would be cool.
