Default [HARDMOD]PSP Phat LED Trigger Guide

DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE TO DAMAGES OF YOUR PSP DUE TO FOLLOWING THIS GUIDE

Hi guys, here is just a guide of doing the LED triggers by soldering the LED to your PSP speakers
lets get started

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
1.Two small LED lights,prefer this

TIPS FROM RA1N
2.1 small philip head screw driver
3.1 small flat head screw driver
4.Thin wires, reasons; PSP has limited space
5.Wire tape
6.Soldering iron
7.Soldering gun
8.PSP
9.Wire cutter/knife/scissors

TAKING PSP APART
1. Remove the battery and remove the screws shown,
a.
b.
c.

2.Put all the remove items in safe place

3.Here you will need to remove the Home button to access the LCD screen
a.
DO NOT LOSE THE TRANSPARENT RUBBER THING THAT CONNECTING ANALOG NUB TO MOTHERBOARD
b.
Flip the tab towards you, be careful, a little force should do it and put it at the safe place

4.Remove the LCD screen and put it at the safe place

5.Remove the tab using the flat head screw driver
a.
b.

6.Remove all the screws shown
a.

7.Open UMD to remove the LCD brace

8.Plan where you going to make the hole by measuring all possibilities, plan where the LED should be. This to ensure that you will not mess the trigger like I did. After all the planning, make the hole by using any method you want, eg. Drill, burr,
a.
b.

9. Now, solder your LED to the wire and insert to the trigger hole

10.Take out the speakers and solder the wire from LED to the speakers, try it after you solder to ensure its working.
a.
b.

11.It should be something like this and wire tape to prevent short-circuits/touching metals/touching wires

Assemble your PSP, good luck and enjoy, when assembling PSP,plan where is the wires shouldbe.

The rest of things, you have to figure it out for yourself.

best way to make a hole on the triggers is to drilling a hole. The wires that he used look a little to big, use 30 gauge kynar wire.
I damage the jell thingy once and my analog stick going crazy.

Yeah, he's one of the best.

My friend Kenshin cuts plates and he runs a business on it. Too bad he's on another forum.

i dont have time to take pics, upload them, and write tutorials because of school
but i can help you in any problem you encounter while modding.

by the way that jell thing near the homebar should be paid very close attention, that helps control the analog stick and if you loose it you wont be able to play games that use analog stick or browse the internet.
