[Tutorial] XMB Homebrew Launchers

I have received a bunch of mail asking me, "How'd you get that icon to launch homebrew?" Well here you go...

Making the PRX

1. Download the attachment which contains a PRX. This PRX is from Netfront Internet Browser Beta 4. All credit goes to Team P86.
   
2. Open the PRX with a hex editor. In the PRX attached, go to the offset 2B64. You will see the text: ms0:/PSP/GAME/HtmlMax_Eng/EBOOT.PBP
   
   
   
   
3. Change the pre-existing text to the desired path for whatever homebrew you want. Only edit text from offset 2B64 through 2B86. If you over write other text or values it may not work. If you are flashing the PRX, please remember to compress it!
   
4. Save the PRX and an original in case you mess up. You must rename it whatever the function you are trying to replace is (see the section below this one).
   
5. Put the renamed PRX in \VSH\MODULE\

If you want you can rename icons in topmenu_plugin.rco, or you can add different icons by editing the topmenu_icon.rco - it's purely aesthetic.

What to Rename it?

And there you go. Now you have homebrew getting launched out of that useless LocationFree Player icon .

can you also tell us how to make such a prx of a eboot or others , because i want the psp tube thing and a homebrew sorter also in my xmb

For those that want it, heres the prx from HtmlMax_Eng_v4.
I got it to work with out compressing the prx. I have a slim psp
so I have the extra space in my flash0.

To make a PSP Tube launcher one, you would edit the text in the tutorial I denoted. For example if PSP Tube's EBOOT.PBP was stored at ms0:/PSP/GAME/PSPTube/EBOOT.PBP, then you would insert (overwrite mode) that into the file starting at 2B64 making sure not to overwrite any other data.

Yammata do you know if the internet radio has its own prx or is it a part of htmlviewer_plugin.prx?

And like xxraven0190xx, I also would like to know how to compress a prx.
