Default Streaming iTunes to PSP Tutorial

Streaming iTunes to PSP Tutorial

Hey in this tutorial im going to be telling you how to stream your iTunes libary
to you PSP system using a program called "MyTunes RSS 3" it's a RSS streaming
program as you can tell by the name and will work on 2.60/2.70+ Ofiicial or
custom firmware.

1. First of all you are going to need the following requerments:

- PSP 2.80+ Offical or Custom.
- Networked XP Pro/Home, I HAVENT TESTED ON VISTA.
- WiFi (802.11b-compatible) Network Router.
- <Java Runtime> 1.5 or Above Installed.
- Apple iTunes with at least 1 playlist.
- And the program off the website here - Codewave Software - Home of MyTunesRSS

2. When you have downloaded the zip file you will have a folder called
"mytunesrss-3.1-RC-3" open this folder up and you will see a folder called
"data" open that and you will find a jar file called "mytunesrss.jar" go
ahead and open the and a program will open.

3. Setting the program up. You will need to set and know the following:

- User account.

- IP Address (for later, keep note)

or

- iTunes XML directory, by default:
"C:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\My Music\iTunes"
You are looking for the file "iTunes Music Library.xml"

4. When you have done all these settings click start server, it may ask for you to unblock the program, click unblock and the server will start. You can minimize this program now, it will now minimize on the tool bar.

]
5. Now go onto your PSP and go into the Internet Browser. Type in the address bar your IP address and the port number.
For example: 192.168.1.108:8080
When it's loaded it will ask you for the user and password. Go ahead and enter them and login.

6. Now you can see all your playlists you have on iTunes, all you need to do is find the playlist you want to stream and click the orange symbol and add it to the RSS channel, when it asks click yes and it will be added to the RSS channel. Go off the Internet browser and go onto the RSS Channel under network, find the recently added channel and play the playlist. This will aslo work on a network, so you can share them with your house hold.

Enjoy!

Thanks for reading this tutorial and hope it has worked for you, if your having any probelms use the forum to ask the question OR you can add me on MSN and i'll go through it with you.

Great tutorial! I can also confirm that it works. I use iTunes on my PC and have many libraries of music, now I can listen to all of it on my PSP. Thanks a lot.
