Since I'm new to the whole community I figured I'd ask what are some really cool apps to get. I'm currently runn CFW 5.00 M33 on a Phat PSP. I tried the new IR SHell and wasn't a fan...maybe I just don't know its full potential? could be, but anyways what are some recommendations and a brief description if you wouldn't mind....keep in mind this thread may help future newbies. Thanx.
okay..you might want to update first to 5.00m33-3 before you get the applications..most of the applications now converted to 5.00m33-3..you can use CXMB for 5.00m33,this one is for applying custom theme without flashing.Autostart, this one launches your games or any applications with define button.Hold v3.4, this one can save your battery life and last longer..or you can use Prx Utility.iRShell, you can use this as replacement of cxmb, besides that..you can use irshell as remote control. PSPFiler, this one can browse through your psp system, including f0.or you can use Xplora 1.6..this does the same thing.you can try PSPTUBE..this can play flash video.PSPhardware alarm interface..this one..as alarm clock.LightMP3..this one play mp3 song and some other formats, and boost your volume..Screenshot plugin..to take some screenshot in your psp,,ah..,,browse through this sections..and try all applications.lol
You can also try some emulators with roms. Like GBA And SNES And NES (Awesome ) You can also use Easy spoof which allows you to change what is displayed as your psp version (at a limit of 8 characters) Or you can use Davee's unlimited character spoofer which allows you to make your version whatever you want it to say. You can use PSPNotes which allows you to write down whatever you like (Like a christmas list :P). You can use lockdown in game which allows you to put a password on your psp so when you turn back on your psp after turning it off you have to put in a password (prevents friends or family members messing with a game. You can use appswitcher to organize everything in the xmb, by placing folders in your games folder and putting stuff inside of them. PSPIrc which is an irc client which allows you to speak on a psp irc channel. Or you can use a vice city cheat device for vice city stories, Hope i helped!
I wasn't a huge fan of Irshell when I first started using it either. I've since found out just how much crap you can do with it. I got nethost setup and am serving files to my psp over wifi. You can also use irshell to play your mp3s in any game. One more cool thing about it is you can download a file with it (say a new .ctf) and install it without using your computer.
PSPtube is another good app. It allows you to play a huge variety of file formats. Just make sure your files are resized to the psp's resolution. I've always found that converting videos to psp format makes them huge. With this you can keep your tiny flvs.
