Dark-Alex DC6 is out

Yes, believe it. I was on the Dark-Alex's IRC channel and saw that DC6 was released. With the release of DC6 comes the ability to install 4.01 M33-2 from the Pandora menu. It also boasts a brand new GUI that fixes issues for users with the TA-88 motherboard who were experiencing crashes caused by the 1.5 and 3.40 kernels.

Changes in version 6:

- Now installs 4.01 M33-2
- Change of core. Now it uses 4.01 M33 core. This fixes some TA-88 crashing because of 1.5/3.40 kernel. Note that there are still other kind of newest TA-88 which cannot boot DC at all.
- Gui of both installer and DC itself changed to a xmb looking one.
- Added the option "Test M33" which boots 4.01 M33-2 from the memory stick.

Installation:

- DC iplloader doesn't require to mspformat the memory stick.
However, in some memory stick it may still be necessary.
Just run the program and if you find an error at 99%, run mspformat and try again.

- Copy DC6 to PSP/GAME/

- Download Sony 4.01 update eboot and copy it to ms rootwith the name 401.PBP

- If you have a PTF custom theme set, quit it before running the program.

- Use the app under a 3.x/4.x kernel. The program may not work in versions prior to 3.03 OE.

- IF timemachine is installed in this memory stick, the program will ask you at the end which button(s) you want to boot DC6, otherwise no buttons will be necessary.

- Now you have an universal pandora ms ready to go, and you just need a proper
battery. If you have 1.50 kernel access, use c+d tool. Otherwise, use corly149 tool.

Battery and ms will work on all psp except the very latest ta-88.

this has some weird feature that makes you hold a button to boot DCv6.

if you don't hold down the button it boots to DCv5 somehow.

Maybe I'll format my stick again and re-install

I love the new DC. Its so much better than the crappy old text one. And if it uses the XMB that means I can edit it. Custom DC menu, here I come.
