This thing is worthless… less battery life for a brighter screen (bet sony stole the bightness feature in one of our devs plugins) a built in mic is ok but not needed. and who cares about firmware changes they’ll be on the slim and phat anyway.
The ONLY reason for this is to prevent hackers for hacking the system. Thats it, nothing else. Its a hacking prevention.
Sony your going to fuck yourself if you release this without some major changes. I don’t care if you want it unhackable I understand that honestly I do but c’mon releasing a worthless new system purely for that… wtf guys, your better than that.
acer, they're NOT better than that, they just want to bleed your money. they wont ever release super high capacity battery even though the technology exist. im pretty sure their techs probably have their own super psps. high capacity batteries, 1gb ram, wifi 802.11a/b/g and draft n, intel atom chipset, read/write umds, touchscreen, mobile network, built-in gps, 4 speakers, dual nub, full-screen tv output etc. their reason for NOT releasing, 'oh it's too expansive to market'.
dont you all realize that sony being the cheapskate that they are, wont EVER give the consumer what they want... why do you think they wont allow the psp to run at it's optimal/maximum capabilities? reason is simple, launching any product to run at its maximum strength would see a downward sale of hardware after the hype has worn off.
omg omg omg ROFL....heez back..replies RIGHT below my post omfg rofl...Seriously..this is awesome..and LOL @ "high capacity batteries, 1gb ram, wifi 802.11a/b/g and draft n, intel atom chipset, read/write umds, touchscreen, mobile network, built-in gps, 4 speakers, dual nub, full-screen tv output etc" u cracked me up LOL....well that is kinda true actually...its pretty stupid that u cant use 333mhz on ur OFW psp..which sucks..i mean i cant imagine playing all these games @ default cpu speed....about the downward sale of hardware..dunno how that works exactly..but yeah this is a psp being launched for the sole purpose of it being unhacakable..but then again..u dont have to buy it...if i dont have a psp and was unsure about getting one...this might just be the incentive to buy it...(provided i was noob and dint know this darker {or shud i say brighter} side of the psp world comprising of pandoras and cfw)
O-T..

you are a noob... and did you know you can edit your post? we dont condone multipost.
read up more.. dont just shoot off your mouth w/out first finding out facts. yes sony will cease, i repeat, will cease the slim's PRODUCTION after the launch off psp3k. but no one mentioned anything abt it NOT being sold. yes there WILL be people buying it right from day 1. not many can afford? i beg to differ. many can afford. it's a matter of choice. need or want. i for 1 will get a 3k set but use a hammered-flat phat battery.
@pspblack92, your dad bitchslap you didnt he? glad he did.. hahahaha. it's no use calling me a biotch over msn, cos you're already PWNED!! read the dumbest thread in case you forgot.

True, I mean now a day's a used Classic is about $149 or less I think it's the same for a used Slimline, perhaps less I'm not sure as I am not a fan of it to look it up. Also if it came down to the point where there are no more Slimline's in stock they'd still sell it if they got it. Money is money to businesses like Gamestop, they'll take anything and sell it. It's the same with everything, when we found out that you could convert PS1 games for use on the PSP places stopped selling them and now it's up to the net to find them in some areas. Same deal with the Classic, although like I stated before no matter what happens with store stock there will always be people selling units back so you can always get a used unit "somewhere"
As for the PSP3k it will all depend on the way people are and what they want. Some will wait for when and if it get hacked, others will get it to enjoy the experience and wait for the dev's to do their work. Some might just get it because they are not into the whole homebrew scene. I still think it's stupid to cease production on the Slimline, I mean I might hate the system and secretely I snicker with joy that it's no longer going to be made while waiting for the same thing to happen to the iPod but I know there are many people who enjoy it, also some that are just getting into the whole PSP Realm would get an appreciation out of seeing something related to the original. As of right now it's a step above the Classic and runs on firmwares that give you the history of the PSP. Also you can use the current app's and games on the Slimline so it's not a stretch to work with it.
I normally would say "oh suck it up and wait until it's hacked because then you can install or do what you want" but to be fair as people are either too lazy, afraid to attempt this on newer systems, just happy with what they have or are debating upgrating what they have. I can see why they hold on to the ones out there already. So to take it off the production line does seem like a major upset, but if your a little patient and resourcful you'll be able to find it. Money's everything in the technology world if your willing to spend it someone will be willing to help you out.
