Default PSP-3000 will have decreased battery life, PSP-2000 no longer in production

John Koller has recently revealed in a video interview with GameSpot that the new PSP 3000 will have a decreased battery life by 20-30 minutes due to the power required for the brighter screen. In good news, a PSP extended battery life pack will be available to purchase during this holiday season which will extend the play time to 8-10 hours.

In other news, it has been confirmed that the PSP Slim will cease production by September. If you're into collecting each version of a console, be sure to pick up a slim unit before it's pulled off the shelf.

So is the 3000's darkest setting the same as the 2000's brightest or something? Or will it be like the 2000 2nd or 3rd brightness? I was just wondering.

SONY could at least sold the 3000 with the extended battery pack instead of bundling I'm pretty sure ppl already have ratchet and clank, I really like the 3000 the new features are good, either way I'll be getting the Nov. bundle. Thanks for sharing.

I'd like to see this model bulky like a Fat but smooth like a Slim.

But if it supports the old Fat batteries, why not just use an extended life one from a Fat? I know they're discontinued but some of us were lucky enough to get one....

Just lower the brightness on your PSP you get 7 hours of play with it on low and 5 on high, I'm sure they will have a stronger battery for you to buy once its released.

i really get mad when Sony change and cease models within a short period of time . this make buyers hesitate between 2000 ( hacked and really well known ) and 3000 ( not hacked YET , better LCD performance , changes in logos )

i my opinion i think the features in the new model r not convenient . maybe like wizardfingers said if they sell the extended battery it may be better

anyway .... thx for sharing
