[Release] 5.50 Gen-C (Xgen installer for 5.50 gen-c)

GENyUS and PSPGEN have released Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-C. While nothing is new in this custom firmware from Sony. 5.50 GEN-C update is a substantial move forward. As it now lets users play back up UMD’s that require firmware 5.55 or 6.00 without patching the eboot.

So you can save yourself a few steps in playing 5.55+ games. No more extracting the games eboot, using game decrypter to patch the eboot. Then finally re-building the ISO. None of that is needed anymore, thanks to GENyUS. So delete that Game Decrypter v4 from your hard-drive as you don’t need it anymore. At least for firmware 5.55, 6.00 and 6.10 games.

This tool let you installing the 5.50 GEN-C Full directly without any patch
and on any psp so PSP fat and psp slim TA-79 > TA-88V2 from any custom firmware or kernel exploit .
for the firmware 5.50 put your 5.50 updater on root of your memory stick renamed 550.PBP .
you can use it to restore any official firmware too on slim and fat upto 6.10!!!!
you can use it to install install any TT’s firmware on fat psp upto 6.10!! you’ll need to put your eboot.pbp
on roots of your memory stick like that X:/EBOOT.PBP .
you can also converter your old DC8 magic memorystick in shiny 5.50GEN B-2.
just select in the XGEN option Install XGEN pandora and restart your psp dont forget
to put the 5.50 eboot.pbp updater on root of your ms renamed in 550.pbp.

Put 5.50.pbp on root of ms. PSP550UPDATE.zip

Never ever install this on a PSP-2000 TA-088v3 or PSP-3000 or you will fully brick your psp.

Additional Info:
*What's new? You can now play 5.51 games without having to patch (UMD or ISO), ability to run protected games like soul calibur or Fma (UMD or ISO), no patching required in order to run demos in PSN
*Team gen said that 5.03HEN-A will be updated shortly.

Known Bugs:
*Irshell can no longer ISO patch but the path will be released soon after
*Video playback 480x272 causes problems but Gen is studying for its fix
*The option to accelerate the reading of MS is now being ported to 5.50 Gen

PLEASE disable all your plugins. If the waves are stuck just format flash 1 (from Wilmer page2 of thread)

if and only if someone can confirm to me that this cfw can run at least cxmb, hold+, joysens, cfe and many more important plugins, i will upgrade to this one. the ms speed up on gen cfw would be sweet. i'll surely wait for that to be done. and another question, can i use leda 0.2 with this? if not, is there a 1.5 kernel for the slim that will work with this firmware? and if i'm on 5.00m33, can i just use that xgen updater to install 5.50gen-c immediately?

Confirmed in the download page on pspgen website. you can use this updater to immediately update to 5.50gen-c with 4.01+(which includes mine, 5.00m33)

And hey, at the download page there's a note. just using google translate so i don't know if i got this right.

It runs CXMB fine; it's wierd why they didn't release a GEN-C patcher. They make you reinstall your entite firmware I wonder why?

Damn,,, My PSP got bricked !!! Have to use the Pandora again on my PSP...
Everything happened good and then,, restart, the waves come up and get stuck...
I had 5.50 GEN-B but my PSP is 2001 mobo TA-088 but Im not sure about the version
but it should work since 5.50 GEN-B runs fine on my PSP,,, RIGHT ??
