5.50GEN-D Now Released - Console Spot Forums

Moments after the release of 5.50GEN-C, many people have experienced problems with their PSP, such as freezing, and playing 480x272 AVC videos.

The team makes a public apology, and went straight to work to bring you the newest revision, 5.50GEN-D.

The following features are included with this custom firmware:

• All features of 5.50GEN-B2 are available
• Ability to run 5.51 + games without having to patch it (UMD or ISO)
• Possibility to launch PSN demos requiring 5.51 + without having to patch them (as MGS for example)
• Possibility to connect to the Playstation Store by the using of MEDIAGO, to retrieve games and goodies without having to install Fake USB or other complicated stuff.
• Possibility to use the XGEN Updater to install the official firmware 6.10 (use it only if you have a Pandora XGEN to be able to return later in Custom Firmware)
• 480x272 AVC Videos are supported

If you're on an earlier custom firmware, this upgrade is recommended to enjoy the latest features of the PSP.

The only bad thing is they didnt fix the WPA internet security for online gaming #( but everything so far is great #)

. There were two other threads. I wonder when or if Team GEN is going to port the MS Speed Up feature. I really wanted that feature

. They said that they were going to port the feature around the release of 5.50 GEN-C.

Yup. someone should delete the other one or merge that with this one. The video playback was what i was waiting for. I hope the MS speed up option be completed fast so i could move to GEN. That's the last thing i'm waiting for before i update to gen.

And can someone post if they're having problems with some plugins. Specially these plugins: CXMB, CFE, hold.prx, UVM, PspPowerSaver, and joysens. Thanks.

5.50 GEN-D should've had that feature if GEN-C succeeded, but it didn't. So instead of consuming their time while porting that thing to GEN, they have to debug GEN-C and release it as D.

that would be great, if someone could post a list with the plugins that are working and the ones that doesn't...by the way...when i installed my cfw i used a pandora and mms to install 4.01m33-2, i am currently running 5.00m33-6 so i think i can update to gen-c without a problem, but should i have a pandora just in case something goes wrong?
