You rock peza, thanks for the list of changes. The more we talk about this, the more excited I get. I know where my time will be spent at this summer! I still hope there are more surprises, because it's not good to spoil everything.
Yeah. Just thought I'd put it all together in a nice list. As for surprises, just wait till you see the actual new look of the site's future re-launch.
If you guys got excited over the new logo and the tiny preview of the new navigation bar, then when we show you a preview of the entire thing or when it launches you'll be stunned!
One more thing to add to the list of improvements... how about a little thing on the front page for sending in news tips? That would make sending in news tips a lot easier. Keep your suggestions coming guys, we need all the feedback we can get.
EDIT: I just noticed we just reached past the 100th post. Really great to see the community cares. Keep posting what else you guys want on the site.
WOW!!!...now that's what i call a comeback gift for me :P ...i absolutely loved the glimpse of the new design...hope to see the relaunch soon...! & as for the suggestions, i don't have any at the moment :P...but if i do i'll post it here soon enough.

The Arcade suggestion seems really unprofessional. Same with the personal blogs, the blogs just seem to be a outrageous idea. The points system sounds good though. I can't really think of anything else...
Advertisements are enabled for all users even myself. I apologize, I find them annoying as well but we need some sort of revenue for the site and those are the only options, the cost has also risen recently because of us getting a new server and the development of the new site.

We didn't have a thanks system before, that's a good idea as I've seen other larger sites do this... it would work great when you want to thank a Theme Creator for his theme. As for the reputation system, that will probably be covered in something like vBux.

No not at all, well for the most part, no. But, speaking for Evolve, we wanted to expand ConsoleSpot, bring more content, and generally make ConsoleSpot improved and better for our members.
We currently already have a comment box for profile pages, but regarding blogs, that we are currently thinking about adding.

Below inside the spoiler is all the info built up to now. Open it up to see all the stuff we plan on adding and are currently considering. I know you'll find this useful Evolve, a list with everything so far. We'll add more as it comes in. So continue with your suggestions, because as you can see from the spoiler, we'll examine all suggestions.

Some of the things that for sure we'll be adding to ConsoleSpot coming this summer:
total makeover of the site (this includes a new design/skin/logo)
new forum style
breaking apart the PSP Help/Tutorial section and making them separate sections. I know I've heard a few people requesting something similar. Saying that there's too many stickies and that sort of stuff.
new expanded sections:
which includes an iPhone and also a PC section for front page
more content for all new and also the previous sections, such as: news, wallpapers, themes, downloads, reviews, and tutorials
new site editors that will contribute news articles, reviews, and other content (there's going to be new staff positions and people will be hired)
a dedicated section for downloads (you'll be able to find anything ever released here)
Some of the things people have suggested and are on the radar for us to consider:
profile page [off-forum] (post what games you are currently playing, join teams, comment in profiles, hold tournaments)
vBux, vBPlaza (may end up working on something custom just for ConsoleSpot)
user blogs?
branch out to other sites (viddler, twitter?, etc...)
new forum staff:
a moderator for every time of the day
removal of inactive staff members
forum rules revised and reviewed
chatbox: "we'll have to look at the current chat we are using and work from there to make it better, although something like this would be lower on my priority list since not many people use it." So for sure we'll have some sort of form of a chat feature.
flash game arcade area: "I don't think an arcade is a great idea. I'll consider it. If more people suggest it I'm sure I'll change my mind." Don't get your hopes up too high!

Additional highlights:
Yes, it [ConsoleSpot] should load faster... since it's going to be 100% valid XHTML/CSS coding and we will be optimizing our scripts to best performance. The main reason I moved to a new server is for the new site too, so you can expect big speed boosts.
We may decide to work on a fully mobile version later, but right now we'll concentrate on the main site. Of course you *should* be able to view the new site with your mobile device(s).

cant wait... enough said... and about the flash game arcade, im one of those who are against it. for me its pretty much useless and it is way far from what consolespot is all about... (consolespot... for console stuff.. not flash arcade stuff)... but whatever changes will be made, im happy with it.
