Bottom up.

Why would you want DivX support or XviD (a la hkd)?

The PSP does not support video resolutions bigger than 480x272.

H.264 (aka x264 or MPEG-4 AVC) have alot of benefits compared to XviD/Divx/WMV9.

The only reason to get something els compared to h264 would that your sitting on a PC that's from pre 2002 were P2/P3's still rocked the day.

So if you plan to watch those illegal movies of yours than you can forget it cuz craptactual encoders like those releasing it always have a size rez size bigger than 480x272 (and using your commoners way of "converting" which is actually is re-encoding is just gonna make it look uglier)

Learn to use AVS and stick with h264, that way the world would've actually been saved from commoners way of watching videos on a PC or a portable device.

but the psp will be able to play BlueRay DVD's soon (with the help of a PS3).

some Blueray disks will have a PSP version of the film on the disk so it will probably need the DIVX etc

hmmm.... if i am not badly mistaken... the psp SLIM has 720x480 resolution on video out... which if is true, then the divx profile fits perfectly under portable or home theater as said here

seriously... divx would be nice. and i really hope that it does come out in 4.0

Thanks for Everything,
PSPdemon

actually has nothing to do with slim it is the firmware as after 3.xx psp support 720x480 and really with pmp why do we need divx.

Pmp has wiked quality have nice files size. I rather have 4 flicks on my 2giger then 2 divx flicks.

It'll probably be another crappy firmware upgrade with one crappy feature. Seriously 3.80 and 3.90 were crap, as of right now I have no intention of upgrading, except for when Crisis Core hits, but then I'll most likely pandora back to 3.71 M33.

Default Divx would B Cool

Just because the psp will have divx support, does not mean you have to use it. Divx would be a cool feature to have. It is not going to replace the MP4 support or anything ..... at lease i don't think it will
