psp fw 4.00 to be released soon

I wish sony would add a more detailed battery meter to the PSP, that 4 stage icon thing is crap, I want a percentage reading =_=.

one thing I definately want to see is an automatic encoder on the PS3. If you send a video from the PS3 to your PSP, it doesn't convert it. Id rather use my uber powerfull PS3's cell processor to rapidly convert video from WMV to MPEG4 than my PC's crappy Pentium 4 processor, which takes ages.

Well if your too Lazy to convert. I convert all mine anyways and it's a plus the file size is smaller. But there may be times where I wouldnt want to convert.

This v4.00 OFW is totally fake. Anybody can make a fake EBOOT. I made this fake 5 minutes ago to prove my point:


You can never believe pictures nowadays. I probably would need to see a video running the update with no cuts (most likely still wouldn't believe it though).

Agreed. Until Dark_Alex releases the newest CFW, there is no reason to believe any of this nonsense...

lol...if this were true then...the hacking community has won the war...all their hacks have pushed sony further into cramming as many features that their previous OFW couldnt but CFW could to please thir consumers...haha...imagine their faces if Dark_Alex successfully built a custom firmware out of the 4.00...

personally i wouldnt update to CFW 4.00 if those features were available...so what if you have higher video quality and abilities to play flash on web browser...do you know how long it takes currently just to load a youtube page...havent you guys heard of PSPTube or a h/DVD player?!?...the PSPtube developer is releasing updates(major not minor) faster than SONY can say official firmware...

copy and paste features on web browser...crappy feature..if you have a psp i'm sure you have a computer...some of you say it would be useful in starbucks and wireless hotspots...come on dude...cant you at least keep your comments to yourself till you get home or something...

music visuals...one of the world's biggest gimmicks since OFW 3.80...seriously,who really stares at those stupid visuals while listening to your songs? i wouldnt truly enjoy the song if i were staring at them at the same time...furthermore,it will prevent my brain cells from dying...

the only way sony can convince me to update is if i require higher firmware to play my games...anytime soon i'll be getting my God OF War,Patapon and NFS ProStreet and i heard that you need 3.90 to play those...and once i complete those games its back to CFW 3.71m33-3(the most stable at has faster memory card reading speed then 3.80/3.90) for me..no need for -4 cos i have a psOne already...

come on ppl...do not give in to stupid Sony gimmicks and remember what the psp was truly meant for...portability and simplicity and most importantly hackability...update only if you really have to...

I think PSP Brew or PCM can edit the titles of Eboots...

But there is 3.90 out so I imagine 4.00 is on the horizon. Unless the like make 3.91, 3.92, etc.

all this is fine.. speculations about whole new added features and everything. But it makes me think. If Sony is really going to add what all here want, then this update most likely, will not benefit the Phat PSP users, due to its now ancient hardware. For instance, Phat can't run skype due to lack of RAM. Similarly, if SCE were to integrate better players, added codecs , widened the usability of existing features, it would imply that they are intending a fw that will run its full capacity only on the PSP-2000 and later psps.

Well, I have to agree with Nazty_Nayt, I will upgrade only if I really feel the need to. Anyways, nowadays I don't spend much time on the psp.
