Okay, thanks to wiihacks.com, I got to the end. But now, it's not reading the disc. I used a DVD+R, bookmarked it, and it still won't read it! It says "No DVD"

Hey guys I got the backup launcher to work but one small problem, I found out patching the games didnt work for me, so I went and grabbed a previously failed attempt at burning the jap version of metroid prime new play control.

BAM it worked, i was so stoked then I navigated through the foreign menu and the game is about to start as the menu darkens the top half of the screen flickers green and it resets back to the main menu.....

i was so sad, any ideas?

I have just installed homebrew, downgraded to 3.2 from 3.4e etc on my wii & all is fine.

Though following that tutorial I patched the game "AMF Bowling" ISO
Burnt to a 'Verbatim" brand DVD using IMGBurn x2 (my bookmark dvdrom wasnt listed, Pioneer DVR-213NP) so I just used another.

Image burnt no issues and verified.
Whacked into my wii
Loaded up Backup Loader, reset with hook
Loaded backup loader and still cannot read disc?

good job shadow just did a complete install on my wii and got a Animal Crossing City Folk back-up working hey for some reason when i try and run the disc on the disc channel it opens but right away it says Error 0001: an unautorized device detected...maybe its becuz it wasnt patched? i dont know but i can still run it old school by going into the HBC and doing it that way...did i install something wrong?

i think is the IOS, have u tried using Backup Launcher in HBC? try that its included in the download if you want

and yeah not all games will work..try with other disk, remember that newer Disk are patched to this method (still works on Backup Launcher), try using a old game and see if it works (idk Rock Band 2 works for me and COD WaW and there new games), then if it fails, you should try reinstalling by using the cIOS Downgrader tool in there
