Heres a new tutorial of how to softmod your wii to play backups using the disk channel (Just like a modchip) and now with videos

DISCLAIMER: MOSTLY ALL THE APPS HERE CAN BE DANGEROUS FOR YOUR WII, THATS MEANS I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY BRICKS AT ALL, USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK! (Thats why i've included bricks savers...)

A: Every firmware that is 3.0+ (It wont most likely wont work on 4.2)

Q: After i Install CiosCorp, My HBC is now flipped over, whats going on?

A: It's problem with CIOS36, Probably with Fakesign and Bugs and crap like that, but to fix the HBC to it's original position, Get WAD Manager and Install the Original IOS36-64-v1042.wad to fix it (Get it with NUS Downloader or anything like that)

Or Optional, You could get The latest shop channel installer to install IOS61 and Reinstall HBC if you don't want to replace your CIOS36

Q: When i try to load my game, The disk channel says "Unable to read disk" after i exit our HBC/*Insert homebrew here*

A: It's normal, Most likely a Preloader or CiosCorp issue, A simple reboot (Turn off and turn on the wii again) Will fix it, Try that, Otherwise if it still goes, it might be that you have a bad media or you didn't burn it correctly (To find out if you have a bad media, Get a backup launcher and it will tell you if you get disk errors like "No DVD" or "No ISO" or something like that)

Q: Will Rock Band Instruments Will Work on its Backups?

A: As far i tested, yes they do, with Rock Band 1 & 2, AC/DC Live Track Pack, Track Pack 1 & 2 WITH loading them with the disk channel (haven tested with backup loader...yet)

Q: I wanna go back to a Fresh Firmware

A: Get a Downgrader

Q: I Screwed up!, What i can do!?

A: If you managed to install Preloader, just hold reset wile booting the wii up and run HBC and then load any Downgrader and downgrade to a "fresh" firmware you want or You can use BootMii and Get a clean nand or w/e (If you dumped your before, AND MAKE SURE IT's NOT SOMEONES ELSE NAND OR YOU''LL SCREW UP UR WII FOREVER!!!!!)

Q: Where i get more systemenu hacks?

A: Simple, just copy whats quoted in this WiiBrew Page

Preloader/hacks - WiiBrew

Look for your firmaware and region, and copy all that text to a file called "hacks.ini" and copy it to the root of your SD and go to Preloader and then to Systemenu hacks, once there u can customize the hacks, and they will be copyed to the NAND, so you can safely remove that "hacks.ini" file (Even trough I've included these in the download)

Q: Can i be able to Put WAD's in the SD Channel?

A: Yes you can, be aware that only Wii Virtual Console and WiiWare WAD's Work (No Homebrew nor Injected WAD's), all you have to do is install them with WAD Manager and then use the Data Management and MOVE the WAD's to the SD and it will work (Don't Use the copy feature, as it wont work!)

Q: Can i play Region Free Backups/WADS?

A: Yes, With the Systemmenu Hacks provided and softmii

Q: Will i get banned off WFC with this?

A: No, only if you cheat online...

Q: What if my Wii auto-updates and it is no longer version 4.0?

A: If your Wii happens to auto-update, use any Downgrader. Since you should have an IOS 249, which cannot be removed using any of ninty's upgrades, so it should let you revert back to 3.2. If you want to prevent this, my advice is to turn WiiConnect24 off, although i have got any problem with WiiConnect24...

do i need a backup loader to play the iso files of the disk bc when i insert it, it still says unable to read disk mabey its bc im useing dvd-rw not dvd-r but i whould think they work the same

Nah, Yeah i think it's that, i burn my DVD+R with ImgBurn at a speed of 4x (The lowest my burner can go) and they work fine, I also bookmark the dvds just in case (To DVD-ROM) see if that works, If you wanna know about bookmarking just ask

Also just in case if you saw in the video after i installed CiosCorp, that it wouldn't load it and gave me that error and i turn off my wii and turn it on again and it worked? Try that too (It's probably a CiosCorp or Preloader issue)

Hi ShadowAssasin, I haven't fully seen your video yet so do pardon me if I say something thats in your video. Say if I downgraded my Wii from 4.2E to 3.2E, will this guide work? If not, what would I have to do? I remember reading your older version which was great I loved that one where you upgrade to 4.0 and you could run backup games as if they were genuine discs! I want to be able to do that again, my Wii got bricked you see and unfortunatly, I had to send it to Nintendo, so most likely they will send it back with FW 4.2E on it. If I did manage to downgrade to 3.2E with all the stubbed IOS249 removed etc would it work? Sorry for the essay type question lol

I bet you could downgrade, aslong it's not a LU64+ Wii, then your good to go, And yes you could upgrade to 4.1 and play backups like u used to, but this is a more recent version, just wanted to to update this and make a video because it could me more understandable for nubs :P

I bet there downgraders for 4.2, i dunno if they are or not and how to use em, i never updated from 3.2

And just FYI i stated in the FAQ that this works on any firmware that is above 3.0, so your good to go with 3.2 or 4.0 or 4.1, but 4.2 will not work with this trough, and i don't recommend 4.2, as it, it has more homebrew blocks and stuff like that

Hi shadow, thanks for your reply, well I have some good news, I had sent my console off to repair to nintendo, they have sent it back with FW 3.1 on it!

(happy times) so I will try out your guide and it should work because, as you said, any FW above 3.0 will work right? but the thing is, they have sent me back my Wii with a different serial number, does that mean they have changed the hardware? its gone from LEH1, to LEH2 (the start of the serial), and is LU64 a new serial and a new version of Wii they have created? I've heard about it, I heard its unhackable, is that true?
