Default Nintendo Wii E3 Roundup

This is quick roundup of all the news regarding the Wii at this year's Nintendo E3 press conference. Be sure to click on read more below for the full look at all of it.

Nintendo start off the show with a very familiar Nintendo mascot. Mario made the debut in a brand new Wii game called New Super Mario Bros. Wii. The game looks like the DS version, but brings with it the ability of up to four players playing at the same time. Players will help each other or compete against each other as they work to finish each level. New powerups are also included in this new sidescroller game. New Super Mario Bros. Wii is set to release this holiday season.

Secondly Nintendo announced the expansion to the original Wii Fit. Come this fall, balance board owners will be able to try out six new exercises and fifteen new mini-games in Wii Fit Plus. The game will come bundled with a balanced board and also sold seperately.

Next Nintendo showed off some new game modes for the game announced at last year's E3, Wii Sports Resort. Which uses Nintendo's new Wiimote's newest addition, Wii Motion Plus. They showed off a comercial featuring some new unannounced game modes; such as ping-pong, basketball, archery, and kayaking. Nintendo then followed by showing off some live demonstrations of skydiving, archery, and basketball.

Continuing with the Wii Motion Plus theme, Nintendo announced that Tiger Wood's PGA Tour 10, Grand Slam Tennis, and Virtua Tennis 2009 will all support Wii Motion Plus. All three games coming soon. Last but not least, Red Steel 2 is going to be shipping with Wii Motion Plus and will only work with said attachment.

Nintendo next showed off a trailer for Final Fantasy Crystal Bearers for the Wii. This game was already announced, but Nintendo decided to show it off anyway.

Later in the show, Nintendo revealed their next step in to good health with the Wii Vitality Sensor. This Wiimote add-on will strap on to a players' finger and will tell you, your pulse, and "a number of other signals being transmitted by their bodies, and "will then provide information to the users about the body's inner world." No details were mentioned on when or where this device would appear.

This next title is quite the surprise seeing as how Nintendo has never released two full 3D Mario titles on the same console; yes that's right, Super Mario Galaxy 2 was revealed. The game appears to look as good if not better visually as the first and we'll be able to ride Yoshi this time around. Nintendo plans to release the game sometime in 2010.

Nintendo then revealed trailers for a few games that were already announced prior to their E3 conference. This games included: Sega's The Conduit, Capcom's Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles, and EA's Dead Space Extraction.

Nintendo finished things off strong with the announcement of a new Metroid title. Developed by Team Ninja and Nintendo, Metroid Other M, will bring what looks to be a more story driven game and third person gameplay.

That's it for Nintendo. Quite a difference from last year's lackluster performance at E3.
