How To Play Xbox(Original) Backups? - Console Spot Forums

I know this is a 360 forum, but I dont think there is anywhere else to post this.

So how do I go about making/playing game backups? Do I need to mod the xbox? Or would it would as simple as rip-burn-play?

I dont think you can since the New xbox experience but you used to beable to flash new firmware into the dvd drive to make it stop checking for the microsoft signature on game discs. You could then play burned games with full compatablility. The NXE gave the modded xboxs RRoD so I wouldn't try unless someone says it works even with the NXE.

No there is not, to play a xbox backup yes you need to have a moded xbox. You can hard mod it with a mod chip, or you can softmod it. I personally have never soft moded an xbox but I have hard moded mine. It is definitely worth it. For info on moding an xbox you can just Google "xbox mods" or some thing like that and find tons of awesome stuff that a moded xbox can do.

Ahh, I see. Could anyone help with a link to a tutorial on how to install/use a mod chip to play backup games? I've never worked on a system like the xbox and have never installed mod chips, or anything like it for that matter. So help would be hugely appreciated.

I see no reason to hack the Xbox 360 except to play free ripped games. You can install the games to your hard drive, so what use is there for the hack?

Installing games onto your hard drive doesn't mean you can play it from your hard drive. Installing the game only makes the game load faster, so that is no help.

In order to play burned games on your console, you need to flash your Xbox 360. There is a tutorial here on ConsoleSpot, but I believe it is outdated. Here is a nice tutorial, and a good 360 modding forum.

Take a look in that tutorial section, and ask questions there.

Almost 2 months later you post in here and fail to comprehend what was even originally asked. The title clearly says "How To Play Xbox(Original) Backups?" In other words, not the 360.

Last, but certainly not least, probably the worst fail out of all them. Once again, if you would have read the title, it clearly says "How To Play Xbox(Original) Backups?" ie, not the Xbox 360. But then you also go on to think that when he said that, you thought we was rereferring to the entire forums; when clearly he was saying since there's no section specific for the old, original Xbox, he decided to post in the most suitable section available.
