Home is verging ever closer to us as the new 1.00 build is now been made available to the closed beta testers. The main new feature in the 1.00 build is the club system. It allows users to join up to 32 other players in a "clubhouse" to discuss gaming or even have themed communities. However when the final build of Home is released to the public, the "clubhouse" feature will be at a fee.
For a few selected users Home has just got a little bit closer to reality. Three waves of beta invites will be sent out over the coming weeks so that Sony are able to test their server load. The beta will remain a closed one until the servers are properly serviced. Then all we have to do is wait for the open beta and of course the final release!
Normally rumors wouldn't be considered news, but in this case there is enough evidence. Yesterday a user who won't be named released information regarding the release date along with a bucket worth of information. Understand this is meant for SCEE only so it is unknown if this rumor also includes SCEA zones.

No word on when the beta ends but it is expected to last a few weeks.
Just a small notice regarding Sony's newest firmware update for the PlayStation 3, which has just launched. Bumping us up to version 2.52; the update is a minor one, which improves playback with some PS3 titles and also adds a fix for issues with the text entry keyboard in certain titles. So basically just a small bugfix update.
The small but full changelog can be found past the break. Also included is a direct download link in case you wish to download the update via PC.

If you just can't wait for Sony to open the home beta you can get in early if you purchase Qore episode 6. This is taking directly from Sony's newsletter.
If you want in early you have to open your pocket books I'm afraid. Expect Qore 6 to be released sometime early November.
*Update
Looks like if you paid for the subscription it paid off. That means if you haven't got bought one yet you'll be waiting like the rest of us till it is publicly released.
If you've been waiting for GTA trophies the wait will be over on October 27th. The only problem is the trophies won't be retroactive so you have to start all over again. Trophy list below.
Sure some got a taste a head of time, but if you sign up now you can get in tomorrow. Go to MyResistance.Net and find the beta sign up form. Submit your PSN and tomorrow you'll receive an email inviting you to fight. What are you waiting for go sign up and help with the resistance.
There have been beta scams going around recently but here's a new one to watch out for. When logged on PSN you might/will receive a message from the user HOME_BETA inviting you to the beta.
Sony never asks you for any personal information, and relies on email to invite you into the beta. If someone were to receive this information you could lose your credit card number, and any personal information. If you recieve this message over PSN report them here PLAYSTATION®Network - Complaint Form - User Information
A dark day for 360 fan boys I'm afraid. The once 360 only developer has publicly announced their next IP won't be Microsoft specific. No news if they will branch out to the wii or ps3 specifically but if the game relies on graphics the ps3 is there. It won't be Halo 3: Recon since that license is held by microsoft but new games will made for multiple consoles.
After updating to 2.50 some PS3 owners have reported video playback issues. The update caused video to be played in black and white along with audio problems. No word from Sony if they will be releasing a 2.51 update but judging from 2.40 it's likely. If your PS3 was effected be sure to contact a Sony representative.
Little big planet has been delayed worldwide do to some controversial phrases stated in the background music.
If you got the game ahead of time then there might be a problem connecting to the online servers when the new version is released. If you're worried contact a Sony representative if you have any questions.
You can expect to see this game released around one week later in US, and unconfirmed in Europe. Check Consolespot for new info on the delay.
