Sony has just officially announced the PSP 3000 at their press conference event at Leipzig. According to David Reeves, the PSP 3000 will have a built-in microphone, and an enhanced LCD screen. It will retain the size and features of the current, slimmed-down PSP (PSP-2000). That's a screenshot of it up there. The unit will launch on October 15 in PAL territories, tagged at EUR 199. Full break down below:
Update: For those of us outside of Europe, the PSP-3000 will be launched in North America as part of two packs. One of the packs will be the Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters PSP Entertainment bundles which will be released on October 14th. The other pack will be a 4GB Entertainment Pack which is due out in November. Both packs will be retailed at US $199.99. Later, Sony will be releasing the PSP-3000 Core Pack, which will be railed at the regular price of US $169.99.
The creator of PSPVC (PSPVideo Converter) has updated his/her PSP video converter to 2.81. This new update brings us new video and audio features. For those of you who don't know what this app is, it's a video converter for the PSP that is able to convert almost any video-format into the PSP format. If you're wondering if this needs a custom firmware PSP, well, it doesn't! You can add your own subtitles in your own language and you can also tweak the image to your liking. PSPVC also comes with a built-in video downloader so you can download and convert from any of the supported sites.
Developer, Dark_AleX, has released an update to his Despertar del Cementerio - Universal Unbricker, bringing it up to v7. Features:
- A format flash function has been added which is useful to correct problems in some PSP's that get an error when installing 4.01 M33, or to have a custom partitioning of the flash.
- An IDStorage tools function has been added. It allows to create a new IDStorage (including for first time, the regeneration of region and umd keys), change region (including umd region), or fix wlan mac address.
Homebrew Developer, Zack, has released Wolfenstien 3D v5.0. This final release fixes various bugs and has a few improvements, most notably the sound and the instant save/load feature. Furthermore, a proper fullscreen mode and TV out has been added. Also, the author notes if you use the floppy version of Wolfenstien 3D, please use the patch below before you run the game or else it won't work. Just copy and replace the files in the patch folder with the ones you have already. Download and comment.
Andy_maN, developer from Team FuSa, has recently updated screenShoot, an application that lets you take a screenshot of the "real screen" and is compatible with FuSa, a PSP slim plugin which enables you to play games on your Standard Definition TV.
Homebrew developer, PhonicUK, released UMDumper a few months ago, and I thought it'll be well worth putting it on front page for everyone to download. This is an application that can read an inserted UMD disk, and dump it as an image to your Memory Stick, so that it can be played without the disk inserted with the aid of custom firmware.
Only M33 based firmwares are currently supported, GEN is unsupported. Furthermore, the author notes that only PSP Games can be dumped. Video and Music UMD disks cause the application to freeze.
Download below. Full details and other features can be found at the author's site. Enjoy!
Homebrew developers, FOL and Chilly Willy, have recently released the latest version of the Amiga Emulator, which is now up to version 0.72.
i did find a problem in the way i was checking the header.it was fine with 44,100 khz but when the file was 48,000 khz it would say invalid.it is fixed now and will accept a wav with all attributes.please re download and im sorry for the problem.
Yesterday, silmarilion released an update of his/her music app called GameMusicGear on DCEMU. This new version of the app has some bug fixes and several new features. For the people who don't know what this app is, it's a multiformat music player based on some the the popular PC music players live winamp and xmms. This app only works on PSP Slim's right now, so sorry Fat users! I think silmarilion will fix this in the future.
Developer, DJB, has updated his Pandora Deluxe, it's designed to prepare your PSP Memory Stick to be used with the Pandora Battery. Unfortunately this program can't change your Battery to Pandora, however it will copy program's to your Memory Stick in order for you to do this yourself. For short this is for noobz. This now uses Despertar Cementerio v6, Hellcats Pandora Installer to Revision 4a, and a different configuration on how you boot your PSP.
